The CBSE class 12 examinations have been suspended due to the ongoing Covid-19 epidemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared after chairing an important meeting on Class 12 board exams.
The 12 class examinations are a vital aspect for the young minds to decide the kind of desired college they want to get into.
But during this lockdown students have suffered a lot in terms of learning
We all know that the “online classes” were not that effective as they were an immediate response that came up due to an unannounced pandemic. And I feel this response isnt working out well. Due to this there is a huge impact on learning. And examinations act as a deciding factor as to how much the student has learnt.
Hence i feel that cancellation of exams may not have been that a good idea but i believe that it may have been a big relief to the students who have suffered these “online classes”
There are some students too who haven't performed well at the beginning of the academic year but have prepared their best for their finals. This set of students will be the most affected. Whereas cancelling of exams may not be an issue for consistent performers.
Overall I feel that cancellation of examinations may be a relief for some students but can be a concern for other students as well.
